Andrassy Avenue - Budapest

This first photo is of the Russian embassy in Hungary. I found it quite particuliar that there was a glass case of photographs of Russian troops liberating people at the end of the Second World War. The second two photos are of the House of Terror and the monument that was erected in front of it. The House of Terror is a museum dedicated to the facist and communist periods in 20th century Hungarian history. Set up during by the Hungarian center-right political party in 2002, the museum is a very sensory experience that uses loud soundtracks and ligthing effects to tell its story. Both fascists and Communists made use of the building and an underground prison was built under the building, which was reconstructed as part of the museum.
